We don’t like having lots of rules and regulations where dogs are concerned, having dogs ourselves we realise dogs are very much part of people’s families, however Old Gardener’s Lodge is very much part of our family so please look after it for us. Also some of our guests will be visiting without dogs:
We thought it only fair that as a prospective visitor, our House Rules for Dogs should be plainly stated so you can decide if Old Gardeners Lodge is right for you.
Please can we ask you to:
Clean up after your dog - both inside and out. Please bag and bin all deposits, as we often have families with children staying at Old Gardeners Lodge. In case you run out, poo-bags are provided in the Doggie Cupboard.
Ensure your dog is thoroughly clean and dried off before allowing them back in the Old Gardeners Lodge. The area is famous for its wonderful walks and countryside, but being so close to the Pennines, we get rain and therefore mud on occasion. If your dog is muddy please feel free to use the outside hosepipe to clean them down.
If you do like your dog to curl up with you on furniture then please bring and use your own throws/towels. There are some provided for emergencies.
If you do use the towels provided by us for your dog, please ensure they are washed and dry by the time you leave. There is a vacuum cleaner provided for use in the Old Gardeners Lodge.
Dogs are only allowed upstairs in the living area and we ask you not to allow your pets to sleep in the bedrooms.
The Old Gardeners Lodge overlooks its own Mill pond and adjoining 8 acre wood, which you are most welcome to use but obvious care should be taken when walking through the woods and it is done at your own risk. Please bear in mind the boundaries to the woods are not totally secure, so please ensure you have control of your dog at all times.
